Trees gone in Peasemore

It's been a year since anyone posted on this blog it was started by me in July 2006, so thought I would get it going again, anyone can post.
Does anyone know why these trees have been cut down in Peasemore?

I was shocked when travelling on the bus last week.

Easter Sunday

Well what a peaceful day we had in the village, snowing at 8am, freezing cold, NO DIY, I never heard one grass cutter, hedge trimmer or one hammer! where was everyone? I portrayed this spooky village when I edited the video at the end of 'Brightwalton in Winter'...

Snow Photos

Snow in February 2007
Quickblaine your photos on flickr are really good, you certainly know your 'rule of thirds'.
I have put some more here folks at the above link to save space on the Brightwalton site.
I agree with you about the horses on roads, you have to expect to meet some round every corner now, perhaps they have a death wish!

Horses

Now I welcome anyone to express contradictory opinions on this topic, but I am no doubt sure that there are many driver who will read this and agree.

I write to make public my thoughts about the amount of Horses currently seen on the roads in and around brightwalton. Since becoming the proud owner on a YN50 yamaha Moped just before christmas, I have on three seperate occasions come face to face with a horse (or horses) which at the sight and sound of my bike go crazy. One has reared up and nearly thrown of its rider completly, and the other looked as if it was going to come and hoof me off my bike!!

I'm curious to know why, especially if these horses have an obvious distaste for motor vehicles, why thier owners continue to ride them on the roads. With all the lush countryside, byways, footpaths and fields to ride on (which I am informed is much better for a horses "feet") why are they not there, instead of causing accidents on what are already dangerous country lanes? -- Quickblaine

Try living this end!!

On a nice 'quiet' Bank Holiday' morning in a nice 'dead village' they strike up no sooner than 8-20 am. First you hear a chain saw, ( someone chopping down yet another tree in Brightwalton! )....then next "I don't believe it!" a strimmer, over the back is a lawn mower cranking up,then Jewson arrives to unload yet more building materials and somebody then gets a hammer out and starts banging their house to bits or building it?.. then the old Chilton skips are getting filled up--- its DIY heaven on a Bank Holiday and God help you if you happen to be on nights!! But after all the Church grounds look very nice!!
I re-name this village "re-'Building Brightwalton' " BIY = (Build it Yourself) Why don't people buy a house that is big enough to start with?

Helicopters? what about Speed Bikes?

Hello, well more of what you don't want I suppose!!just a topic as this is what it is for.Who is doing all the speeding along Ash Close in little ?cc bykes, it really worries me in case a child should run out from the School entrance by the Church, I know it is holidays but 'anywhere' for that matter!, perhaps the noise is more than the speed actually is, but could they STOP if such a child did actually run out?

Exercise your dog in Brightwalton / Fulham Rd ! ??

Today I thought maybe I would have a nice quiet stroll 'round the mile' with Ben , he is getting rather old now and needs the nice quiet life!.. Well that soon became a nightmare.. as soon as I took his lead off along comes a huge great lorry, then two vans, then a car travelling at about 70 miles an hour, then 4 more cars OH dear this is a busy road, boy I thought this is worse than the Fulham Road!

Helicoptors at Night

Hi Quickblaine
I think I saw one time something about the helicoptors flying in from Benson, they are practising and there was an apology in the NWN about it.
Has anyone else seen anything about it anywhere?

Midnight Helicopters?

So I'm curious to know if other Brightwalton residents, like me, have "noticed" the Helicopter that chooses most nights anytime between about 9pm to 2am to fly round in circles over our quaint little village. For a nocturnal teenager who's sleeping habits are more erratic that a fish in lemonade, I'm not that bothered by the inccessant droning of helicopter blades going round and round and round. wait a minute. yes I am. And I'm sure many other brightwalton villagers with more regular sleeping patterns are bothered by this also. Doe's anyone know who might be responisble for the aircraft, or who one might contact to make a complaint? I myself can't throw bricks that high out of my window...
