Trees gone in Peasemore

It's been a year since anyone posted on this blog it was started by me in July 2006, so thought I would get it going again, anyone can post.
Does anyone know why these trees have been cut down in Peasemore?

I was shocked when travelling on the bus last week.

I sent images to Newbury Weekly News as I thought they may run with it ; I pointed out that the destruction was taking place in bird's nesting season. Appaling
action by farm management; probably the obnoxious Browns of Peasemore House.

Thanks for your comment Signum, the bus driver has since told me that they were cut down to make a hedge, I see now they are growing back but will take a long time before they are ready for the birds.
